A professional development workshop for English teachers was held regarding guided reading for key-stage 1 students (P1 – 3). In the workshop, strategies on teaching guided reading to different levels of students and how to conduct a guided reading session were demonstrated and acted out among teachers through roleplay. The main focus of the workshop was to present a more consistent and structured approach to getting the most out of the time allotted during the lessons and maximise student engagement and improvement.
